Well,it's been awhile since I wrote last,so here's an update.
The kids are doing okay. (Robbie 19,Jessie 16,Keith 16) Robbie is doing great, working in the electricle field. He's been dating the same girl for 8 months and says he loves her,I hope everything continues to go well for them. She's really a nice girll Jessie is my daughter and I love her and am proud of her but sometimes she can be a handful so to speak. Its a lot harder I think raising a daughter than a son for many different reasons. With a son you don't worry as much I think but with a daughter you worry more about her safety, etc. She sings and is signing a contract tomorrow for three albums, its really quite exciting. Keith is doing well,I call him .. my angel. From the age of 3 he was talking about God, telling kids around him you shouldn't do this or that cause God can see you. This was not something he was taught by me, even now at this age he doesn't hang out with as he puts it "bad kids". Has a heart of gold and shows it all the time.Loves to draw and is trying to sell some of his designs hes made. School starts again soon,I'm pretty excited about that, yeah. I work at night and sleep during the day, thats a little difficult while they're home for the summer.
Speaking of work, things are going well at work. I was feeling very frustrated the last couple of months, with things at work, nothing in particular, just everything I guess. Anyway,I took a week off to have a much needed break. I've taken time off before but each time it wasn't what I would consider a break. This time I had an awesome break. I actually had time to relax, and do some things I haven't been able to in awhile. While I was off I had a chance to read a book called "Life Zones" by Richard Corriere andd Patrick M.McGrady,Jr. What an awesome book,it really makes you think about your life and they way we choose to live it. Check it out if you have a chance. Soooooo .... I've come back to work with a different attitude on many things. I have an amazing group of co-workers who are just as amazing as individuals. Sometimes this job can be stressful, working with youth in care but I wouldn't do it if I didn't love my job.Tonights a quiet night but who knows what tomorrow may bring. Well enough about work for now.
In the relationship part of my life, things are great. My boyfriend is amazing, I swear somedays he was sent from God especially for me. (Smile) We've been together for about a year now, kinda taking things slow for the kids sake. (I didn't date anyone for a long time before him) I was a single parent after my divorce and wanted to set a good example for my daughter and my sons.
Below is an amazing poem I found about attitude, which is sort of what "Life Zones" is about.I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Attitude
The longer I live, the more I realise the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.
It will make or break a company, a church, and a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude
We will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past.
We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you . . . We are in charge of our attitudes.
Take Care Everyone
